Teach your students about plant cells and cell processes. These activities are aimed toward 5th to 8th grade, but can be used for younger high achieving students.
In this unit, students will learn from observing a teacher model of a cell and building their own. They will build photosynthesis molecules using candy. They will experiment and observe photosynthesis in action. They will also learn about capillary action with celery. There are two different sets of celery lessons- one geared toward K-4th grade where they create a celery journal and one for 5th to 8th grade that focuses on capillary action.
Included in this unit are material lists, background information, worksheets, coloring pages, procedures, discussion questions, and assessments.
