I use this jigsaw for my AP biology class. This is a group assignment that asks students to use evidence from their textbooks and/or the internet to propose a evolutionary history for plants as we know them today. Students work in groups of 4, first researching individually the four topics. Team members then get back together to come up with a most likely order for each of the events. This activity usually takes about 75 minutes. The 4 events are: the evolution of vascular tissue, the reduction of the sporophyte generation, the evolution of the seed, and the evolution of roots and leaves.
