Includes (1) Prior Knowledge Check: know - learned
and (1) Note Taking Sheet/ Graphic Organizer
Both used to answer the question "What does a plant need to grow?"
I began my introduction lesson by asking the students to do a Quick-Draw-Write (draw and label what you know) about plant needs.
During the lesson and reading, students were asked to take notes on the graphic organizer. (Plants need: air, sunlight, water, nutrients)
Following the lesson, students were asked to Quick-Draw-Write what they learned about plant needs. They should draw, label, and refer to organizer for help.
May be used with Harcourt, Life Science - Chapter 2 or any plant life lessons.
