This is a set of recording sheets to go along with a series of science experiments to investigate what happens to plants when they get/don't get what they need. This product includes recording sheets in both color and black and white, as well as formats that allow students to record 1 or 2 days worth of data on the same sheet. Visuals allow non-readers to navigate the work easily, and there is space for students to write about what they have observed.
This set includes:
-How does water help plants grow and survive (4 recording sheets- 2 color, 2 B&W).
-How does sunlight help plants grow and survive (4 recording sheets- 2 color, 2 B&W)
-How does air help plants grow and survive (4 recording sheets- 2 color, 2 B&W)
-Materials list and directions for each of the experiments
These makes a great science fair experiment and is aligned with the Next Generation Science Standards. NGSS Standards addressed include:
-K-LS1-1. Use observations to describe patterns of what plants and animals (including humans) need to survive.
-LS1.C: Organization for Matter and Energy Flow in Organisms: All animals need food in order to live and grow. They obtain their food from plants or from other animals. Plants need water and light to live and grow. (K-LS1-1)
-Analyzing and Interpreting Data: Use observations (firsthand or from media) to describe patterns in the natural world in order to answer scientific questions. (K-LS1-1)
-Patterns: Patterns in the natural and human designed world can be observed and used as evidence. (K-LS1-1)
