This Plant Parts Activity Pack is the perfect addition to your plant science unit! This pack has fun activities to help your students learn the basic parts of a plant (flower, leaves, stem, seed, roots, fruit). Reading and writing are integrated into this mini-unit!
Included are the following:
--Plant Parts Diagrams:
Use these fun diagrams as posters during your unit or in an interactive science notebook! Color and black & white options included. Full-size and half-size posters included. Two versions included: one with seed and one without.
--Plant Part Mini-Book:
8 page mini-book to incorporate reading into your science unit! Two versions included: one with all words and one fill-in-the-blank option.
--Cut and Paste and Fill in the Blank Worksheets:
Two versions of each page included: one with seed and fruit and one without. Use these as independent practice or assessment.
--My Food Plant Part Sort:
Many students don't realize that when we eat fruits and vegetables, we're eating different parts of a plant! In this activity, students will sort various fruits and veggies based on what part of the plant is being eaten (for example: if you are eating lettuce, you are eating the leaves of a plant). Included in this activity are headings (flower, stem, leaves, roots, seeds, fruit), 20 fruit and vegetable options to sort into the plant part categories, recording sheet, and answer key.
Plant Parts Writing Prompt Pages:
Two writing prompts included (opinion and informational). Two versions are included for each prompt: one with an illustration space and one without.
Parts of a Plant Foldable:
Color, cut, and glue this into an interactive science notebook to help practice and remember the parts of a plant.
Yummy Plant Parts Placemat:
Have students color and then laminate these placemats. Then give students different fruits and veggies and have them sort the fruits and veggies based on the part of the plant they are eating! A very fun, interactive, yummy activity!
