Do you need an easy, interactive way to introduce students to specific vocabulary about the parts of a plant and adaptations for plants? This scavenger hunt is an easy, no prep (print and go!) loop activity that will lead your students around your classroom while they discover new terms or review terms they already know. Students will create a foldable with the 4 main plant parts (flower, leaf, stem, root) then fill the inside of the foldable with specific vocabulary that relates to each plant part. There is also an option for students to fill in an example of adaptations for each plant part.
This product includes 14 vocabulary pages designed for a basic but thorough introduction to plant vocabulary. Example words from each section are anther, upper epidermis, xylem, and root tips. It was designed for a GCSE biology class but is appropriate for any biology or science class where words of that level are being taught.
This product includes a 2 page teacher guide, 18 vocabulary cards, and a single foldable with 14 print options- everything from a full color foldable with vocabulary words listed inside to a black and white version that is completely filled in by students, and a few versions where students draw their own diagrams to encourage creativity and learning. To prepare for the activity, print a copy of the vocabulary cards, fold each card in half, tape them up around your classroom, and you're ready to go!
