Product Description
Use the picture book "Tops and Bottoms" by Janet Stevens to introduce plant parts and teach student what plant parts animals (including people) eat! Set up a lab for students to observe and categorize plants based on the parts we eat.
Students will understand the structure and purpose of different plant parts, identify the different plant structures that humans eat, understand how people and animals depend on plants.

Students will also learn about the traditional genre of Trickster Tales and how to identify the characteristics of these stories.
Lesson plan includes color photos of plants in each category, student recording sheets and a bonus homework project.
