Background Information:

I used to dread teaching my students the report writing process. After quite a few years of teaching and supporting many students with this process, I realized I was making the teaching of report writing much harder than it was.

Over the years, I have refined my teaching and have come up with a way to make it easy for students to work through the different steps of the report writing process.

I created this report writing package to help all Grade 1, Grade 2, Grade 3 and homeschool students be successful writing a plant report. I had two main purposes for creating this resource. I wanted students to be proud of their finished reports and I wanted to make the process easy for teachers.

Make the report writing process easy for your students and the planning process easy for you! Check out this report writing package today!

Frequently Asked Questions:

Are all the materials I need included in this resource?

The only other materials you will need are books, magazines, or access to the internet. Students will need a source of information to find the facts they need to write their reports. You may also be interested in using trading cards with your students. They can use the information on the trading cards in their reports. Trading cards are currently available for:

Insects

Habitats

Arctic Animals

Ocean Animals

Do the materials allow for differentiation?

The report writing resource supports differentiating for your students through the various graphic organizers. There are three different sets of jot note templates, drafts, and final copy templates included in this package of materials. If students have low writing output, provide them with the templates that only require them to find one fact about each category. Students who are working on their letter formation can be given the templates that have primary lines. If you have students who require a challenge, provide them with the templates that have regular lines and require them to find 2 or 3 facts.
