This compilation of activities takes students through the differences between people, animals and plants and how they provide for their basic needs.
1) Food: study the movement of sunflowers throughout the day as they follow the sun to collect its energy.
2) Water: Use celery and colored water to observe how plants drink water from the ground.
3) Shelter: 2 short experiments. The first is with paper, cloth and plastic to see which resists water. The second is with different shapes of plastic to see which allows water to roll off of it.
