First students will use a link on YouTube (or you can use a textbook) to fill in the function of the organelle and then fill in whether it’s in plant cells, animal cells or both. They can pause the video to give themselves time to write down the function.
You will need to print pages 4 and 5 of this document and give a copy to each student. Then print and cut pages 7 and 8 into individual squares/cards per group. I would place the cards into envelopes and scramble them. Then print page 9 of this document and have one of these per group for students to sort the cards on.
First have the students sort the pictures and discuss their rationale as groups, then have them present to the class why they put them in that order. Make sure they aren’t peaking at their chart they filled in for the video clip. I would have them scramble and re-sort until they get it right without looking. The end result will look like this
