*This lab activity requires you to purchase elodea plants.*
Learn about photosynthesis with 3 different activities and great opportunities for discussion. Students can actually see photosynthesis in action! I first did these experiments with my students in my BIO 101 college course. Later, I did the same experiments with ages 4-12 in a museum environment. Students of both age groups were fascinated and had lots of great ideas to discuss. Photosynthesis can often be considered confusing or boring, but these experiments will make it "real" for students.
Includes instructions with photos for easy set up. Also included is a script for the teacher to facilitate discussion throughout the activities.
Meets the following Next Generation Science Standards:
K-LS1-1. Use observations to describe patterns of what plants and animals (including humans) need to survive.
2-LS2-1. Plan and conduct an investigation to determine if plants need sunlight and water to grow.
