Product Description
Plant Parts is a read, write, color and draw unit centered on the six plant parts we can eat: flowers, stems, roots, leaves, fruits and seeds. The six parts are introduced along with two examples of each part. The examples include: seeds: beans and peas/corn, stems: celery/asparagus, leaves: lettuce/cabbage, roots: carrots/potatoes, fruits: apples/bananas, and flowers: broccoli/cauliflower. Each of the pages can be used separately or can be put together into a My Plant Parts Book for each student to read, write, color and illustrate. I have included a book cover if you should choose to use the pages in book form. For each section, you will find three pages. The first page has a short paragraph about the plant part or food. The print is gray and traceable so the students can trace and practice handwriting while they read about plants parts we eat. There is a box at the bottom of the page for the students to draw their own picture of the part or food. The second page is a black line picture of the plant part or food for the students to color. The third page includes an picture to color plus blank lines so the students can write their own sentences. I have also included two different blank writing pages, so students can draw their own pictures and write stories to go with their illustrations. Additionally, a watermelon shaped book is also included. It has a cover page, a lined writing page, a page with lines on half for writing and illustrating, a blank drawing page and one page for each plant part or food. Students can illustrate each page. Finally, there is a seed packet writing activity. The students decorate the seed packet and then fill in the blanks on the writing page and draw a picture of the plant/food on the blank seed packet page.
Use the pages and activities that meet the needs of your particular students. I hope you enjoy using Plant Parts. Thank you for purchasing this product.
