I have used this in my classroom as part of Bilingual Centers and it is a favorite of both my English dominant and Spanish dominant kiddos!
The game goes like this: There is a group of bananas that go in a box that is to be passed around. All of the bananas have sight words on them, EXCEPT ONE. There is one banana that is completely colored in black and that is "El Platano Pudrido". The object of the game is get as many bananas as possible. One banana is picked per turn. If you can read the word that is on the banana, you get to keep it. If you cannot, you put it back and try again next time. The game goes on until someone pulls out the ROTTEN BANANA. Once the rotten banana is pulled, each player counts how many they have and whoever has the most bananas wins.
There are 6 sets of Rotten Bananas available, 1 set for every 6 weeks. All that is needed is yellow cardstock!
