In groups of 4, students research a country, continent, or island sitting on a different tectonic plate. They outline the tectonic boundary, identify and explain the location of different boundary interactions, describe geologic features that take place on that tectonic plate, and predict future occurrences.
Introduction slides, an example presentation, and grading rubric are all included. The grading rubric is designed to have students working on specific slides and they are mostly graded on their individual work. This way, if someone did not do their slides the group as a whole is not affected.
Currently, one of the group scores includes marking the text for an informational article about their tectonic setting. At this time, I do not have those informational articles right now as this is a tweak after administering this assessment and updating the rubric to outline specific jobs and group vs. individual grades.
