This is a great activity for the end of a unit on plate tectonics. I used these cards to help my students review the material before a test. This is a pdf download that you can print out easily.
To set up a quiz-quiz-trade activity you will first need to cut out these cards. There are enough for a class of 27 students. If you have more students you can always put out duplicate cards. Next you will distribute these cards to the students. Set up a timer for 10-15 minutes. You can determine the amount of time appropriate for your class and needs. Each student is an expert on their question. They should ask a partner to answer their question. This does require students to move around the classroom and talk. If they get it right they get a high five, fist pop, or way to go. When the pair has finished discussing both questions and answers they will trade cards and find a new partner to start all over again. Students should mingle with a new partner each time and try to get to as many questions as possible. Students love this activity since it is social and teachers love this as a review or reinforcement.
You can also use these cards as flash cards for review for a test.
