Description

Baseball is an American pastime but many of my ESL students are very unfamiliar with the game. Since they love reading about Amelia Bedelia I though they could identify with her confusion about the game. After reading Play Ball, Amelia Bedelia and learning about baseball we discussed the various idioms related to baseball. The students used this graphic organizer to take notes on and created posters for the terms in the book that Amelia got confused. There are also hats and gloves to use as a sort, if you prefer. Students can match the idiom hat with the meaning glove to practice. Includes extension idea!!
