Play dough is a great tool for kids to use when learning fractions! It is easy for them to experiment with creating equal parts. I created these play dough mats to give my students some direction as they work to create fractions. I have included sheets for ½, ¼, 1/3, fourths, halves, and thirds.
Three levels of support are included: divided shapes, shapes that students divide, and a blank sheet for open ended exploration.
Some tools you may wish to include with this center are: small plastic knives, cookie cutters, rolling pins, and of course play dough!
