This is a religious reader's theater intended for a small group of 4 students. The object of the script is to examine what is meant by pray without ceasing and how to apply it in our lives. #2 is trying to be a better Christian and heard the pastor last week talking about a scripture that said to play without ceasing. He/she got it a little wrong and did not read too carefully when they looked it up so now they are mixed up. #4 is able to set the record straight by looking the scripture up and then everyone talks about what that means. They end up deciding to apply it to their lives for one week and then meet to see what differences it makes in their lives. It would make a great skit performed before a sermon or before a discussion in class. I use reader's theaters to encourage my students to practice fluency. It is a fun way to do something that they need. Most of my scripts are in black and white so they photo copy easily. The problem with many other reader's theaters is that students spend a lot of time waiting for their part. When you have a small group they get more practice in and less off task behaviors take place. My name is Melanie Whitesides but my store name is Wonbyone and I hope that your students enjoy this script as much as mine did. Let me know how things go!
