Cognates are words that are similar, or even identical, in two languages. Spanish and English share many of these. For example: capital/capital, banana/banana, restaurant/restaurante, cereals/cereals, etc.
Although pronunciation and spelling may vary slightly, knowing a good number of cognates can help you communicate more easily and effectively.
How to play:
Let kids use a pencil and a clip to spin the wheel
or pegs. Invite your kids to identify the words in the wheels and name them.
Kids can also tick the words in the vocabulary list. There is also an option in case you want to use the wheel as a Wheel Mat.
