Whether it's the beginning, middle, or end of the school year, kindergarten and first grade friends always need number formation practice because of those common reversals.
With the mindset of "let them be little" in mind, students can practice making numbers with play-dough using these dough mats! There are two numbers per sheet in rainbow colors. Each set of 10 starts with the same starting color for students to see the magic of 10. Numbers included: 0-120
Suggested use: print on card stock, hole punch corner, laminate, cut, and put on a ring. All you need to do is toss the ring and some play-dough into a center bucket and you're good to go! Fun and easy practice for your students no matter what time of the year!
Additional ideas for the entire school year:
Beginning - number formation station using dough
1. Focus on "making" numbers with dice:
Roll a single dice and find the matching number on the ring - make the number with dough
2. Roll two dice, add, and find the number to build with dough (works with subtraction facts, too)
End of year:
Use with 120 Cards: Shuffle up mini 120 flash cards. Students draw a card at a time and use the 120 ring to find, match, and make the number with dough
