As we all know the first six weeks of school are crucial. At the beginning of the year, we spend all our time introducing routines, procedures and rules. By doing so, we are providing students with a consistent structure and setting clear expectations.
In order to support our students (especially our youngest students, our second language learners and our special education students), it is helpful to provide visual reminders so that students can learn how to become respectful, responsible, independent and cooperative.
That’s why I created these playground visuals. Use these visuals as a tool to help your students understand what the rules/ expectations are on the playground. The visuals include both the word choice: rules and expectations. Just choose which one best fits your instruction.
In this product you will find….
-Twelve playground rules/expectations visuals (Please preview!)
-Six whole class activities (for additional conversations):
3 Thumbs up/Thumbs Down
3 Detective Work
-Seven student writing activities that go along with the whole
-Five additional visuals that can be used throughout the day to
manage student behaviors.
Suggestion: Place the visuals in a binder so that students can review the expectations/rules during choice/reading time.
As always, your comments, feedback and/or suggestions are kindly appreciated.
