My Algebra and Geometry students perpetually struggle with writing equations of lines in slope-intercept form. I wrote this worksheet to "hold their hands" through the process.
Pedagogically, I know that they are so accustomed to solving problems in a math class that result in numerical answers (x = 3, or 2 + 3 = 5), that is is strange for them to respond to a math question with an equation as their answer.
Still, they need a lot of practice with finding the equation of a line given the slope and a point, or two points, or some other combination.
I use this activity within cooperative groups, and I circulate to make sure they are getting the purpose of the questions.
The file includes spiral review problems.
For this worksheet, I expect students to show their work on a separate sheet of paper.
