Teaching your students how to use grammar correctly when speaking or writing can be a challenge. Hearing and reading grammar with accuracy in the current media environment can be even more of a challenge.

As a lover of language (and organization), I always enjoyed teaching students how words can be understood with greater meaning when identified and grouped into categories like nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, etc.

Our complex language can be difficult to master, so learning how each word influences another word in a phrase or sentence can be confusing, especially to young learners trying to "make sense of it all".

This Good Grammar Guide can be implemented in your classroom in many ways:

  • Whole group instruction & participation
  • Cooperative group learn & share
  • Partner teach & learn
  • Center Activities
  • Take-To-Your-Seat Independent Activities
  • Writing Center component & resource

It is sequentially created, using sight & high frequency words with common vocabulary seen in beginning readers from Kindergarten Level to Second Grade.

It will introduce to your students how to identifying which words are Naming Words, Action Words, and Describing Words.

It, also, includes several instructional tools with engaging, hands-on activities for helping your students learn how to recognize Complete Sentences from Fragments with many Writing opportunities.

  • Multiple Game & Group Boards
  • 100s of Word Cards with Blank Templates
  • Fill-In Activities

I think you will find this Literacy Guide a valuable tool as a teaching/learning resource. Please share how your students respond!
