For this experiment you will need to set up four stations around the room. At each station students will have one packet of Kool-Aid, a pitcher and sugar. Students are using their qualitative and quantitative observations during this experiment. At station one student will add a less amount of sugar needed for the Kool-Aid. At station two students will add the appropriate amount of sugar needed for the Kool-Aid. At station 3 and 4 students will add more than the recommended amount. Students will have to describe the texture, taste and the solution for each station. Was there more solute or solvent? I loved seeing my student’s faces when they finally got to station 4!
