Pledge of Allegiance
: How about discussing the US Pledge of Allegiance with your students. They may say it each day but do they really know what the words mean? This is a great way to get them talking. Your students will enjoy this fun "Pledge of Allegiance" word search!! If your students are like mine, they love these.
In this Pledge of Allegiance themed puzzle, words are found forward, backward, up, down, and diagonal. I would consider it on the challenging side since students are looking for words in all directions, and the content may be more suitable for upper elementary.
I use word searches to introduce vocabulary, or even just give it as morning work. They are also great to glue in writing notebooks for future writing topics. Perfect for a sub, too. Have your students write about the meaning of the pledge. Have them define certain words. Maybe they could illustrate their thinking. Use this Pledge of Allegiance word search however you would like in your classroom.
