Product Description
This PDF file has 3 different options to meet the needs of all of your students.

Meet the demands of Common Core RL.3 with this plot foldable!

These foldable plot cubes are a great way to assess your students' understanding of the elements of plot in a fun, creative way.

Using the same blank plot cube, which is included, students are given three options (or you can select which option best meets the needs of your students) to show they understand the plot of any story or novel.

Option 1: Draw the main event at each stage of plot. This is a great option for students that are artistic or struglle to express themselves in a written format.

Option 2: Describe the main event at each stage of plot in a written format.

Option 3: Draw the main event or a symbol or image that represents the main event at each stage of plot. Then, write one to two sentences describing the event. (This option combines both option one and two for an extra challenge)

An organizer is also included with this PDF. Each stage of plot is listed so students can organize their thoughts before jumping in and getting started. You can check the organizer for understanding before students begin completing the foldable plot cube.

These can be used to formatively or summatively assess how well students understand the plot of any story. Use it with a text from class or have students complete it based on their independent reading books. This can be done individually or with a partner.

The cubes also look wonderful when combined with some string and hung from the ceiling. If you decide to do this, help students punch a hole in one of the sides and tie the string with the not on the back side of the paper BEFORE assembling the cubes.
