Product Description
This download contains four graphic organizer assignments. Each assignment is two to three pages in length. Each assignment takes roughly 30-45 minutes to complete. These assignments can be adapted to any piece of literature that you are teaching! These assignments worked very well when introducing the subjects to my ninth grade literature class.

Plot Assignment:
This assignment will task the students with defining the various elements in a plot chart. Once the students have found the definitions, they will have to put examples for each definition from the novel that you assign.

Conflict Assignment:
This assignment will first task the students with differentiating between internal and external conflict. Once the students have differentiated between the terms, they will find examples of internal and external conflict. Then they must organize examples of the following types of conflict from the novel that you have assigned:
Man vs Self
Man vs Man
Man vs Society
Man vs Nature
Man vs Technology
Man vs The Supernatural

Setting Assignment:
This assignment tasks the students with defining the term and identifying the setting of the novel that you have assigned. They must use evidence from the text to organize information about the time period, the place, and the social climate of the novel that you have assigned. Then the students will determine the sensory elements used in the novel to see what information can be inferred about the setting of the story.

Literary Terms Organizer;
This assignment is a three page graphic organizer that will task the students with organizing the terms and definitions. The students must also write an example of each literary term from the novel that you have assigned.
