This powerpoint contains the story, Wink by, J.C. Phillips. I did this lesson in my virtual classroom as a way for my students to apply the components of plot which include: exposition, rising action, climax, falling action and resolution and to see how a character changes over time. This lesson does not teach plot, rather it provides a way for students to apply what they have learned about plot. It includes a break-out room activity and two discussion questions. Slides 5 - 38 contain the story of Wink scanned into the powerpoint.
I did this with my 6th graders and they really enjoyed the change from what we typically read. This lesson is aligned with common core:
CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL6.3- Describe how a particular story's or drama's plot unfolds in a series of episodes as well as how the characters respond or change as the plot moves toward a resolution.
This powerpoint could also be used in a traditional classroom setting with a Smart board or Elmo.
