The lesson begins with reviewing substituting known values into various linear formulae. In the development phase of the lesson students learn how to create a table of results from a linear function in order to plot x and y values as coordinate pairs. As learning progresses students begin to recognise the importance of the gradient and intercept values.
Differentiated Learning Objectives
All students should be able to plot linear functions in the form y = x + c.
Most students should be able to plot linear functions in the form y = mx + c.
Some students should be able to plot and solve graphically equations in the form y = mx + c.
