Use masking tape on the wall to create a coordinate grid. I use this activity to show that a coordinate grid is make up of a vertical and horizontal number line, which challenging students to plot rational numbers on these lines. I set up about 5-6 grids throughout the classroom. Each group gets the sheet of numbers to cut and tape on the number line. They can also use a sharpie to write the numbers on the numberline for those that need help plotting the rational numbers.
