This center was made as a review in early second grade for adding s and es to words. I had a combination class last year. The second graders needed this because some had forgotten how to make plurals with es. It was easy enough so that the children could work without interrupting my first grade instruction. First graders sometimes worked with my second graders on this activity, so many of my first graders already knew the skill before it was formally introduced to them.
I included standards for Common Core and for my state: Oklahoma PASS Standards. You can choose to print the page for your needs. There is one title page, two heading cards, 20 words, one Help Chart, and a worksheet. The first page explains how to assemble this activity.
This is one of my favorite activities for a busy day because once you explain what to do, the kids need very little help with it. They usually work together and they can check the Help Chart if they get stuck.
