PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Plural Nouns PowerPoint (Regular and Irregular) & matching printable: This is a step-by-step Power Point that you can use to teach your students how to form plural nouns. It is also very interactive. Students will be actively engaged and writing responses throughout the Power Point.

It begins with an explanation of singular and plural.

Then, there are 7 "rules" slides. After the rule is presented, students are given an opportunity to apply the rule by writing the plural words on a white board or piece of paper
1. For most words, just add -s.
2. When a word ends with -x, add -es.
3. When a word ends with -sh, add -es.
4. When a word ends with -ch, add -es.
5. When a word ends with -ss or -s, add -es.
6. When a word ends with -f or -fe, change the f to a v, and add -es.
7. When a word ends with -y, change 'y' to an 'i', and add -es.

Then, there are four slides devoted to irregular plurals (children, men, women, mice, teeth, feet, fish, sheep).

Finally, there are 16 practice slides. Students are given a singular noun. They are asked to write the plural form of the noun in a sentence.

This Power Point is fully animated so that an answer does not appear on the screen until the teacher clicks the mouse.

This is a compressed zipped file that also includes a worksheet that your students can complete independently following the Power Point!!
