Objective: To prepare for the reading of Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar by familiarizing oneself with the historical characters and their lives.

• Copies of Plutarch’s “The Life of Julius Caesar” (This text is public domain and is available at http://penelope.uchicago.edu/Thayer/E/Roman/Texts/Plutarch/Lives/Caesar*.html). *Begin reading paragraph 61, as that’s where Shakespeare’s tragedy begins.
• The attached graphic organizer.
