Pocket Chart Sentences Sight Words (we) - literacy center ---
***This pocket chart resource is coordinated with my Emergent Reader: Sight Word: we. After using the emergent reader below in guided reading groups and sending home to be read to parents, put this pocket chart resource in your literacy center so that students can put the sentences in order to match the reader. This is a center they will be successful with since they will be familiar with the emergent reader.
You can find the Emergent Reader: Sight Word: we at this link:
Emergent Reader Sight Word WE
This Pocket Chart Activity for Sight Words (we) is great for a literacy center or for students who finish their work early. These sentences focus on sight words (we, put, on, and it). Creating or unscrambling each sentence helps the students focus on looking for the capital letter for the first word in the sentence and looking for the ending punctuation mark for the last word. Each sentence has a matching color border so that students can sort the cards by color, and then put the sentence in the correct order by finding the capital letter and ending punctuation mark. A matching picture for each sentence is also included. The pictures are coordinated with the emergent reader mentioned above.
After the students correctly unscramble each sentence, they can write the complete sentence on the recording sheets provided. This provides evidence for the teacher showing what sentences the students unscramble in the center.
I hope your students enjoy this pocket chart/writing center activity!
To Use: Print each page on cardstock, laminate for durability, cut apart, put the cards in a Ziploc bag, and put in a literacy center with a pocket chart for students to unscramble. I hope your students enjoy this pocket chart activity.
***If you do not have a pocket chart, the sentences can still be used simply by placing the words on the floor or table.
The PREVIEW shows everything included in this packet.
The 10 sentences included are listed below and match the sight word reader listed above.
