Prep: Print, cut and laminate for durability. Use colored gingerbread images or print and color white version.
Ideas for use:
Individual cards allow for many uses.
Standard and color versions of gingerbread house allow center to be used with color words or without.
Build the story with your students.
Build the first sentence and then have students build the rest either at a center or whole group.
Differentiate by using color word cards in color or black and white.
After building sentences, students can match the correct color house.
Place houses in pocket chart without color words. Students find the correct sentence and fill in the blank space with a color word.
Remove various words and students figure out what is missing and fill in the blanks. Students can use other sentences to help figure out which word is correct.
Use writing worksheets included to practice writing the sight words he, she, by. Students read the sentence and color the each house to match the color word. Cover up the pocket chart or remove house to create a reading challenge!
