This is an excerpt from the complete Pockets Change Financial Literacy Curriculum, which teaches students personal finance skills, entrepreneurship, stock market, and real estate basics. All lessons are also tied to common core and national standards. They are differentiated and use experiential learning techniques and help students hone 21st century learning skills.
The students will engage in a debate in this lesson. There will be four different groups arguing the pro’s and con’s of being an employee, self-employed, business owner, or investor. As well as learning to craft a viable argument, you will guide your students to the concept that there are pro’s and con’s for each earning group and that no group is the wrong group.
