This is an excerpt from the complete Pockets Change Financial Literacy Curriculum, which teaches students personal finance skills, entrepreneurship, stock market, and real estate basics. All lessons are also tied to common core and national standards. They are differentiated and use experiential learning techniques and help students hone 21st century learning skills.
In this lesson, students educate each other on the different strategies and reasons to save and invest. They will break up into groups and are all financial-planners-in-training. Each group will
be assigned a strategy or concept that they must learn and then convince their potential clients (the rest of the class) to invest their money with them based on that strategy. Presentations will take
place at the beginning of the next lesson.
This lesson includes standards, activity description, key terms, assessment, and all necessary worksheets.
