A great way to introduce poetry to your students is to do a Poem of the Week! You can incorporate many literacy skills such as phonics, fluency, and even math and science. This unit the third in a series of Poems of the Week ~ Nursery Rhymes. This specific edition is based on the rhyme Jack and Jill.
The unit contains lesson plans for each day of the week, explaining what to do with the poem and activities to include as enrichment. I've included a possible layout of the materials included to use in your Poetry Center or Area.
