This scramble activity is a great way to revise poetic techniques with students.
The file contains 9 of the most common poetic techniques, with their definition, and an example. You cut out the boxes and mix them up, then distribute to students. Students have to work together (or alone) to match the techniques with the appropriate definition and example.
Poetic techniques covered: Alliteration, Assonance, Onomatopoeia, Repetition, Rhyme, Metaphor, Personification, Simile, Imagery.
