    Description

Teach poetry analysis with confidence and save 20% using these poetry mini units for all 9 poems on the 4th & 5th grade CCSS ELA Text Exemplar list. Task cards, teacher background, notes and answer keys, poem summaries, poet biography, student recording booklets, this set has it ALL and you get more than 20% off I've done the hard work for you! You get to do the fun part!

You can set up poetry centers, use these with small groups, with guided reading groups, or as whole class instruction. There's so many options with this set.

DISTANCE LEARNING NOTE: While this is not a Google Classroom product, you have permission to use this product as a digital product with your students PROVIDED YOU USE THE MATERIALS BEHIND A SECURED OR PASSWORD PROTECTED SITE and materials are NOT posted directly to the Internet for others to view. - HR Updated 4/27/2020 during Covid 19 home learning time.

Another idea: Teach one poem each month of the year. You can have students respond to a task card prompt for 2.5 weeks each month.

Each poem has 12 task cards with questions and answers keys, plus a paper saving folded student answer booklet for recording and citing evidence from the text. To enhance your lessons, also included mini poet biography and quick summary of the poem with notes for the teacher. I've done that hard work of analyzing the poems and researching the poets for you! You can use this set right away with NO PREP for you!

In addition to the task cards, each poem has a one-page “Meet the Author” page and Acrostic Poem worksheets. These make a great extension or center activity for differentiation.

The student answer recording booklet is designed to print back-to-back using only 3 sheets of paper.

Your purchase includes the password to my poetry analysis web link collection. I’ve found online sources for you for each poem to build background knowledge, learn about the poet's life, watch videos, listen to audio links, read the poem online, and more.

Also included are “I Can” statements for 4th and 5th grade Common Core in student language ready to print and hang up on your concept or focus wall.

The Bundle includes all 9 of these Poetry Task Card sets and saves 20%
