This lesson is engaged to spike curiosity, even for reluctant poetry students. Resources include an alphabetized version of the poem as a starter, a thorough self and peer assessment proforma to keep students on track and aware of their own progression, a Jigsaw Activity that includes a 'Super Group' for the most able. This resource is engaging and encourages independence in learners. This poem is part of the Cambridge IGCSE (UK and US) but could also be used to teach the skills of deconstructing Unseen Poetry.
