Description

Poetry can be very difficult for students. It forces them to think about text in ways that they are not accustomed to thinking about text. Considering that poetry is littered with Figurative Language and deeper meanings and that it is presented in a format that is unnatural to the untrained eye, poetry is often elusive and labor intensive in order to derive any sort of understanding. The Poetry Elements sheet is designed to focus the reader’s attention and zero in on certain aspects of poetry that can be difficult for students to understand and/or recall.
