In the Battle of Fireflies, students will read and analyze “Fireflies” by Paul Fleischman and “Fireflies in the Garden” by Robert Frost. After comparing the two poems, students will vote on which poem they think is best by writing a poetry evaluation. This lesson also includes a bonus two-voice poem activity, where students write and perform their own two-voice poem! There are four levels of voting templates included, so you can choose based on your students’ writing abilities!
