Product Description
The Perception of Self in the World is an approximte 8 day unit examining the perceptions of self and the world as presented in the poetry of a range of classic writers such as Wordsworth, Rilke, Dickenson, Frost etc. The readings and exercises encourage students to consider how their perceptions of themselves and the world shape their writing.

Each day poems of a certain theme are examined and understood. This is followed by writing exercises that promote the theme where students create their own perception of that theme. The unit culminates in a writing assignment that can be altered according to your expectations.

This unit is a great way for students to apply their knowledge and understanding of the classics directly to their own creation.

Included in this package:

Discussion prompts
8 days of daily writing exercises
12 Poems by classic writers
Culminating Assignment with Rubric
