This 29 page file is a Poetry Portfolio Project that is perfect for your poetry unit of study. The packet includes: cover sheet for student poetry portfolios, instruction page for students, poetry response worksheet, poetry project task menu with nine project choices, four rubrics, two pages of lined paper, and twenty classic poems.The project is designed for 4th-8th grade, but is perfectly adaptable for high school.
For the project students will read a volume of poetry and choose a poem to write a reader's response on, memorize and recite a classic poem, complete a poetry project (individually, partners, or small groups), and select their five best original poems to include in their portfolio.
