You have the poems. It’s pretty easy to find some to use in the classroom. Now what do you do with them? Problem solved!
Use these two resources, a "Poem Tic-Tac-Toe" board and a "Poem Choice Board," to have your students think and write critically and analytically about poetry. The “Poem Tic-Tac-Toe” board is based off of Bloom’s Taxonomy with 6 different levels of prompts. The “Poem Choice Board” is based off of Howard Gardner’s multiple intelligences.
These are great poetry reading and comprehension strategies. These resources can be used in a learning center, for bell work or group work, or as a quiz.
