This worked so well in class that I just have to put it up for others to try. It is in .doc form so that you can adjust the directions and rules to suit your students' needs.
Sestinas are difficult for students to wrap their brains around, but with six strips of paper and this graphic organizer, my students got the hang of it in a single class period.
Be sure to give students 6 slips of paper on which to write their six words. Then have them reorder the slips according to the chart on the handout. When they have reordered them, they fill in the order in the blank chart. Easy as pie.
