In this assignment, students are asked to choose a song and poem (we did this after a study of Harlem Renaissance poetry) and compare the two.

There are TWO files included: the first is an assignment guide, which outlines the assignment and provides several scaffolded pages for students to dissect and analyze their song and poem, and then organize their written response. There is also an in-depth standard-aligned rubric included.
