Poetry Templates for Science Writing

Great for STAAR, NGSS, and Common Core!!

National Poetry Month is a perfect time to add poetry into your science classroom!

I love how easy it is to use these templates and incorporate poetry into science lessons.

How to use poetry templates in your science class:

Poetry writing is a great student output product. After giving your students new information (teacher input), allow them to process the new information by putting it into a science poem.
Science poems are great to post around the room to show off what students are learning and creating! Students can use science poems to show you their level of understanding on a topic, making science poems a good formative assessment tool.

A graphic organizer is provided for students to collect information about their subject before writing poetry. Your students could complete the graphic organizer during a teacher input activity or reading passage.
