Poetry is an important part of literature. Understanding the elements of poetry can help students interpret the poem more effectively. In this unit I outline poetic devices, characteristics of poetry, and a few types of poetry. For each unit, there is an interactive activity, and the whole unit is followed up with three assessments that can be used to help gauge understanding. Please read what is included in the description below. This unit gives you a teaching guide and all the resources you’ll need to teach it. You get a teacher’s completed version of all the activities and assessments. I trust I’ve given you everything you need to successfully teach a poetry unit. Please leave feedback. If you have any questions or concerns, please email me and I will do my best to answer them. I appreciate your business! Follow Me for updates and information on sales / freebies!
